Me and my boyfriend were looking for an authentic - rather than "tourist trap" - cooking class experience and found it in Dar Yassine. The house is located in a non-touristic neighborhood 5 minutes by car north from Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), or 7-10 dirhams in the Petit Taxi, the red cabs. Btissam was very kind and welcoming and spoke good english. After the booking she shared a list of dishes to chose from. We went for the kafta tagine (meatballs), zaalouk (tomato, bell peppers and eggplant warm salad) and msemen (moroccan pan-cooked layered bread with semolina). The house and the kitchen were super tidy and clean. As for the food, everything was delicious with deep and rich flavors that felt/tasted truly moroccan. We all shared the meal (she was elegant enough not to impose herself but kindly accepted to join us when we insisted) and in the end she treated us with some traditional green-mint tea and biscuits, and a visit to the building's rooftop featuring a panoramic view of the Fés-Medina. She later shared the recipes of the dishes we cooked in the class so that we can replicate them at home and "go back" to Morocco :) PRO tip: come hungry! Thank you Btissam for the experience!

The host speaks good English and has lots of experience doing cooking class. There're quite a few different dishes you can choose learn, with ingredients and method that are practical to home cooks, not fancy pots nor exotic spices requires. The class is done at her home at a non-touristy neighborhood, so not only can you learn the dishes, you'll also get a glimpse into ordinary Morrocan life. The host will take you to a local market for ingredient shopping, which is always fun. Overall highly recommended experience, a bit away from the touristy hussle in the old city.
